This is the real secret of life — to be completely engaged with what you are doing in the here and now. And instead of calling it work, realize it is play.

We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, “O me! O life!… of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless… of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?” Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?

Rest in peace.

No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world.

—Robin Williams (via larmoyante)

—Robin WIlliams, World’s Greatest Dad (2009)

You will have bad times, but they will always wake you up to the stuff you weren’t paying attention to.

Lana Parrilla - Regard Magazine April 2014

I really do see the good in people, and I don’t want to change that. T’hat’s really how I view things, so sometimes I’ll look past a lot of huge red flags because I see something else in someone. T’hen of course it always comes back to haunt me in the long run.
